Do you actually need a Austria eSIM?
It depends on your plan. Austria is in the European Union, so an EU SIM works there at no extra cost — but only up to a roaming data cap that varies with what you pay at home, and which is small on most prepaid plans. How much data do you need in Austria?
It depends on what you do with your phone, not on the country. Typical daily use:

- Do I lose my usual number?
- No. The eSIM is a second, data-only line. Your usual SIM stays in the phone and you keep receiving calls and texts.
- Is my phone compatible?
- iPhone XS and newer, Galaxy S20 and newer (except FE and China-only versions) and Pixel 3 and newer support eSIM. Your phone also has to be carrier-unlocked.
- Are unlimited plans really unlimited?
- Not unlimited at full speed, and we would rather say so. You get 1 GB a day at full speed on Standard and 2 GB on Plus; after that you stay connected at 512 kbps or 2 Mbps until the next day. Nothing is cut off and nothing extra is charged.
- What if it does not work when I land?
- Email [email protected]. We answer in Portuguese and English and we fix it while you are still travelling, not afterwards.
